BACE Holidays – Free Holiday Activities for Eligible Families
Barnet offers BACE Holidays, a programme providing free holiday activities and nutritious meals for children aged 5–16 who receive benefit‑related Free School Meals. Activities include sports, creative arts, cooking, trips, and enrichment opportunities every Spring, Summer and Winter Holidays.

Positive Activities for ALL Barnet Children and Young People
Barnet’s Positive Activities programme offers a wide range of free or low‑cost activities for any child or young person who lives in Barnet or attends a Barnet school. Sessions run year‑round (Term-Times and Holidays) and include youth clubs, sports, arts, music, outdoor learning and more.

Music Lessons

At Summerside, we are delighted to be able to offer children the chance to have either guitar or piano lessons. If you are interested in your child learning either of these instruments, please visit https://www.pianofunclub.co.uk/ for more information and to book lessons.

Breakfast club

Breakfast club is for children from Reception to Year 6 and costs £4.00 per day (paid through School Money) and includes a healthy breakfast of cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt and squash. Children play games inside and outside school. Children can come every day or for occasional days as needed and places do not need to be booked in advance. Please bring your child to the Breakfast Club door between 8:00 and 8:15.

Children who have Free School Meals due to family income can come to Breakfast Club free of charge.

After-school childcare

We are very pleased to partner with Happy Days to offer after-school childcare until 6:00pm.

Happy Days is an established after-school facility to assist schools in offering busy parents an excellent childcare service to suit their needs. Happy Days clubs are Ofsted registered and have regular inspections.

Happy Days staff are qualified and highly trained in childcare, all of whom share a passion for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the children and making sure that they enjoy their experience at the club. Happy Days staff will be working closely with the school, staff, parents, and children of Summerside Primary Academy.

The after-school club will run until 6.00 pm for Reception to Year 6 children. Please check the website www.happydaysclubs.uk for full costings.  

Registrations will be made online at www.happydaysclubs.uk. There is a one-off registration fee. If you work different hours each week, there is an option to book different days each week through the online booking system. There is also an option to book for last-minute sessions, but if booked under 48 hours beforehand there will be an extra £2.00 booking fee. Children will not be accepted unless payment is made in advance.

Children will be provided with a healthy snack at the start of the club.
